Christmas special clues revealed…
The first promo image, above, for the upcoming Christmas special has been released.
Digital Spy has revealed that Orla Brady will be in the episode, describing her character as “someone from the Doctor’s past, with the plot of the festive episode revolving around her.”

The Mirror has reported that in the special, Matt Smith reveals he is the 13th Doctor, after taking into account the War Doctor and the Tenth Doctor’s “regeneration” in Journey’s End.
The article has this apparent quote from the episode: “I’m dying and there is nothing I can do about it.”
The unnamed source is also quoted saying: “The riddle of the regeneration problem, something fans have talked about for decades, will be faced head on at Christmas. There is going to be another huge cliffhanger and somehow Peter Capaldi has to join and the series has to continue.
"The show’s big fans, known as Whovians, won’t believe their eyes at Christmas.
Steven Moffat said “The 12 regenerations limit is a central part of Doctor Who mythology - science fiction is all about rules, you can’t just casually break them. 
"So if the Doctor can never change again, what’s Peter Capaldi doing in the Christmas special?"
